Wigan have told Hugo Rodallega they want his future resolved before the transfer window opens in January.
The £15million-rated striker is wanted by Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus and his current deal runs out next summer.
But the Colombian, 26, is dragging his heels with Wigan looking like relegation candidates and clubs prepared to snap him up at the end of the season for free.

Some sources state that Liverpool are leading the chase for the Colombian international who could well be available for around £6m in January as the Latics look to cash in on a player who could leave in the summer for nothing. Whilst the 26 year old could not be described as prolific his efforts to keep Wigan the right side of the perforated relegation line have pretty much kept Roberto Martinez’s side in the English top tier.

Rodallega has managed 22 goals in 87 games and now is a Liverpool target as Kenny Dalglish looks to bring in striking reinforcements. The Anfield side have an established strike pairing in Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll but of late that partnership has stuttered, indeed the Uruguayan international has appeared more effective when not alongside the England international who cost the club £35m in January.

Liverpool also have the option of using Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy up front but both players are in the latter stages of their careers and both work better out on the wing, therefore a move for Rodallega may well make a great deal of sense.

Wigan will struggle to get Rodallega to sign a new deal, not least as Wigan have started the season shockingly badly and Martinez may well be unable to prevent the club from avoiding the drop, and therefore may have no option other than to accept decent offers for the Cali born striker.
