Anfield side keen on San Siro attacker.
Liverpool have earmarked a move for Inter Milan teenager Philippe Coutinho as director of football Damien Comolli looks to bring more youthful options for the club’s squad.
The 19 year old Brazilian international saw a decent amount of first team action last term during Rafa Benitez’s brief reign at the San Siro but since has found himself at the periphery of the Nerazzurri squad and Claudio Ranieri is reportedly ready to listen to offers for the attacking midfielder as he looks to re-shape the Inter Milan squad after an appalling start to the season.
Coutinho is still considered a hot prospect but poor form when called upon and a series of injury concerns have left the Serie A side ready to sell the former Vasco de Gama man and Comolli has scouted the adaptable attacker who can play either in an advanced central midfield role or out on the wing.
Damien Comolli has identified a number of youthful targets that the Merseyside club has moved to sign including the likes of Jordan Henderson, Sebastien Coates and Andy Carroll during 2011 and the Frenchman believes that the Rio born starlet is a player he feels can add value to the Liverpool ranks.
Philippe Coutinho has made just one Serie A appearance this term and may well feel that a move to the Premier League would be a good chance to get his career back on track and the presence of fellow Brazilians Doni, Lucas Leiva and Fabio Aurelio may also persuade the Inter Milan to make the move to Liverpool.
