Arsene Wenger hopes to bring CSKA Moscow man to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are reportedly lining up a £15m bid for in form CSKA Moscow midfielder Alan Dzagoev after the Russian international impressed scouts sent by Arsene Wenger to monitor his progress.
The 21 year old goalscoring playmaker has been in fine form for both club and country over the past 18 months and is now being strongly linked with a move away from the Khimki Arena. Wenger apparently sees the Beslan born youngster as an ideal replacement for Samir Nasri who left Arsenal for Man City in the summer, a player the Dzagoev has been likened to in terms of his playing style.
Wenger is keen to bring in more goalscoring options and Dzagoev’s ability to play in a central of wide role has led the Frenchman to consider making an offer for the talented starlet.
With question marks over Andrei Arshavin’s Arsenal future there may be even more need to bring in players who effectively link midfield and attack and a bid for Alan Dzagoev would add more creativity to the Gunners midfield.
Dzagoev has scored 36 goals in 139 appearances for CSKA and netted four goals in Russia’s Euro 2012 qualification campaign and is also said to be the target of Serie A pair Juventus and AC Milan.
