Gunners hero to make Emirates Stadium comeback?
Re-sign Thierry? I wouldn’t rule it out, says Wenger
Arsene Wenger left the door open for Thierry Henry to make a shock return to Arsenal on Friday, as it emerged the Gunners are planning to hold talks about their top target Mario Goetze with Borussia Dortmund.
Henry, Arsenal’s record scorer with 226 goals in 380 games, is training with his former club to keep fit in the Major League Soccer close season.
And Wenger has refused to rule out a sensational loan move when the transfer window opens in January.
Asked whether a move for the New York Red Bulls striker was possible, Wenger said: ‘In football you rule very few things out. But it depends if we have injuries until January. At the moment we have a big enough squad to cope.’

This may well be a wise move to consider. Yes Thierry Henry is not the player he was at his pomp but the 34 year old is still fit and has had a very good second season at the New York Red Bulls.
Given that Robin Van Persie is carrying the goal scoring burden all by himself, with Gervinho failing to put away chances at a regular rate. South Korean international Park Chu-Young has been scoring goal regularly for his country but is yet to taste a minute of Premier League action.
Bringing TH14 in January would of course depend on his MLS club be okay with their star turn risking his fitness ahead of the American season so this may just end up being something of a pipe dream but the fact that Wenger hasn’t ruled it out is interesting.
Henry netted 15 goals in 29 matchs in the MLS last term and helped his side to the play-offs.
