Old Trafford side keen on defender.
Manchester United are eyeing Valencia defender Adil Rami.
He has reportedly been watched by scouts from Premier League champions United in recent weeks, but Valencia are confident keeping Rami.
He is on a four-year deal at the Mestalla and Los Che chiefs feel there’s no need to upgrade his deal to ward off United.
Though Man United have now collected five clean sheets on the bounce it is plausible that Sir Alex Ferguson will look to consider possible defender signings due to the errors made in matches earlier in the season, chiefly the poor displays against Man City and Basle but such moves may well relate to the possible sale of veteran Rio Ferdinand and the constant injury concerns over Nemanja Vidic restricting the Serbian to just four Premier League starts thus far this season.
Adil Rami is a consistent, if not spectacular, performer at the Mestalla this season and is now a regular member of Laurent Blanc’s French national team set-up and the 25 year old may well be tempted by a move to Man United but one wonders if the former Lille man is better than the many options Ferguson has to call upon.
Sir Alex Ferguson has the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and the much improved Jonny Evans to fill the two centre back roles as well as the aforementioned Ferdinand and Vidic so there seems little urgent need to make more additions in this regard.
