Anfield side keen on in form Carrow Road wide-man.
Liverpool are thought to be monitoring the progress of Norwich winger Anthony Pilkington with a view to making a move for the player in January.
Pilkington has caught the eye this season after his summer move from Huddersfield and has proved his ability to overcome the jump from League One to Premier League football and has emerged as one of Norwich’s key players in their first season back in England’s top tier of football and this performances has seen the player linked with a move to Liverpool, a massive step up for the player that spent time in the Blackburn Rover and Manchester United youth squads.
Pilkington is thought to be valued by the Norfolk club in the region of £5 million and many pundits believe that would be a shrewd piece of business for a player that will just get better.
This may be a shrewd bit of business for Kenny Dalglish to consider. Clearly it may be too early to judge just what Anthony Pilkington is capable of, it’s equally true that the former Huddesfield has made an immediate impact in the top tier and if he can be lured away from Carrow Road for a fee of around £5m then that may well prove to be a calculated risk to take.
Given that Liverpool may be on the lookout for a more natural solution to fill the right wing slot a move for the Blackburn born 23 year old who has netted four goals in ten games for the Canaries and been a constant attacking threat for Paul Lambert’s side.
At present Dalglish has used Dirk Kuyt and Jordan Henderson on the right of his midfield but the Scot is said to be on the look-out for a player who can add balance to their attack with Stewart Downing doing so well on the left since his move to the Merseyside club in the summer.
