Yann M’Vila almost arrived at Emirates Stadium during the summer.
Rennes Sporting Director Jean-Francois Creachcadec, has spoken about the future of his club’s powerful midfielder Yann M’Vila – a mooted transfer target for Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
“He is a player of very high technical value and, therefore, also of very high economic value,” said Creachcadec to TuttoMercatoWeb.
“In late summer, we received a good offer from England, but it was too late.
“In summer we are ready to listen to interesting offers.
“[A transfer to] Italy? No team can afford him.”
M’Vila is the epitome of the modern defensive midfielder.
As well as being excellent at breaking up play, he is also accomplished with the ball at his feet – even breaking passing records in the France national team.
M’Vila is sure to want to test his mettle in either La Liga or the Premier League sooner or later, but would not come cheap.
Is Arsene Wenger prepared to pay top dollar for a 21 year-old who is close to the finished product, or does he have faith that Emmanuel Frimpong and Francis Coquelin will come good as alternatives to Alex Song in the anchor midfield role?
