Cheer up David, the Old Trafford club might say yes!
Everton are chasing Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf.
The People says the Goodison chief sent number two Steve Round in a delegation to watch the Senegalese hit man score twice for the reserves against Liverpool last week.
Moyes is keen on Diouf and is also aware that United have a long-term interest in Jack Rodwell who has hit form this season and may be a big-money target next month.
United were hot on Rodwell a year ago and Sir Alex Ferguson may have a go for him as he faces up to problems in his midfield.
It’s never a good sign when your topscorer a week before Xmas only has three goals to his name and it appears that a big stumbling block to Everton’s efforts to climb further up Mount Premier League is the lack of effective attacking options. This has led David Moyes to consider a loan move for Mame Biram Diouf, a move that may well suit all concerned.
The Senegalese international is unlikely to break into the Man United first team any time soon and at 24 is no longer likely to find sitting on the bench a good use of his time or talents.
A move to Goodison Park may well help to impress Sir Alex Ferguson or could lead to a permanent move to the Toffees to join the myriad of other former Man United men at the club. It’s a win/win thing, not least because it will cost Everton chairman Bill Kenwright nothing!
