Anfield hot-shot given lengthy ban for racist comments made towards Old Trafford defender.
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been handed an eight match ban by the FA after a lengthy investigation into the Uruguayan’s behaviour and actions towards Man United left back Patrice Evra.
An Independent Regulatory Commission panel found a charge of misconduct against him proven and as well as the playing ban the Liverpool striker has also been fined £40,000.
Suarez claimed his use of the word ‘negrito’ but stated that in his native Uruguay such a term is not an insult, this reasoning was clearly not something the IRC agreed with and as such upheld the FA’s initial charge.
It is likely that the 24 year old striker will appeal against the ban.
