Anfield boss has some thinking to do and here are ten possible players he could target to give his Merseyside club added firepower.
Liverpool would probably already have been considering making moves to bring in another striking option and last night’s news that Luis Suarez had been handed an eight match ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra only makes that need all the more pressing.
With the Anfield side only managing to score 20 goals in 16 games and having now lost their main attacking threat for a prolonged period Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli will be looking at potential striker signing options to pursue when the transfer window re-opens next month.
That need is perhaps even more urgent given that England man Andy Carroll is still struggling for form and alternative striking options such as Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy appear to be more effective out wide. With Liverpool set on chasing a top four spot the need to bring in a striker is hugely important and here are ten possible options, some realistic, some less so.
