Anfield side keen on Ibrox hit-man.
Ally McCoist hopes Nikica Jelavic would favour the opportunity to win further silverware at Rangers over financial incentives from the Barclays Premier League in January.
The Croatian striker was the subject of a failed £6.5million bid from Leicester in August towards the end of the transfer window, but is also wanted at Liverpool, Sunderland, West Brom and QPR.
McCoist admits Rangers cannot compete financially with clubs south of the border but believes the Glasgow giants still have plenty to offer the striker if he remains at Ibrox.

By all accounts Liverpool are said to be the front-runner in the chase to sign Rangers strker Nikica Jelavic as Kenny Dalglish looks to boost his attacking options after seeing his Anfield side struggle for goals. The Merseyside club will also have to plan for the very real possibility that Luis Suarez doesn’t win his appeal against his eight match ban, leaving the Premier League side desperately short of striking alternatives.
Andy Carroll has struggled for form and Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy are more commonly used as wide-man leaving Dalglish to scout possible additions for next month.
Nikica Jelavic is reportedly keen to leave Rangers after 18 months at the SPL club, during which time the Croatian international has become a big hit, notching up 33 goals in 44 starts and in the process clinching a domestic title last term.
