Arsene Wenger set to bring new addition in to his Emirates Stadium squad.
First Arsenal signing to be revealed Monday
Arsenal will reveal their first signing on January 2nd sources have revealed the player is not new to the surroundings of the Emirates.
Thierry Henry, after what has been a slightly awkward transaction is set to pen a two month deal with Wenger’s side. The Frenchman is seen as a legend at the club and will be welcomed back as cover in the forward role.
Although some do question the period when Henry shall return to America, leaving Arsenal with only Robin van Persie once more, it is believed his re-introduction to the Arsenal side shall only be beneficial for a club that are chasing a Champions League spot with Chelsea and Liverpool.
Speculation is growing rapidly that a deal is almost done that will see Thierry Henry return to the club he spent eight successful years at prior to a move to Barcelona. The French veteran will apparently put pen to paper on a two month loan deal which could see the 34 year old take part in as many as ten matches and could offer Arsene Wenger much needed striking support with both Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh set to depart for the African Nations Cup in mid-January.
Robin Van Persie could do with some help up front after netting 16 of the club’s 34 Premier League goals thus far this season.
Apparently Arsenal are in talks with the New York Red Bulls in relation to insurance details that will presumably cover the MLS club should their prized asset get injured during his stint at the North London club. Clearly the American side are mindful of David Beckham’s injury problems that occurred when he was out on loan at AC Milan.
Henry could in theory be available for as many as seven Premier League matches, as well as FA Cup encounters and the Champions League tie with AC Milan. His addition to the Gunners ranks could well help add strength in depth as Wenger looks to seal a place in that all important top four club.
