Catalan side want White Hart Lane winger.
Barcelona have made Gareth Bale their No.1 target next summer – but set a £25m price limit.
Coach Pep Guardiola thrashed out a hitlist with director Andoni Zubizarreta for new left-sided players, which also includes Valencia’s Spain international Jordi Alba and AC Milan’s Thiago Silva.
But Bale, 22, is the top priority and it is Guardiola (right) who insisted the Spurs flier is the player he most wants.
Barcelona are also preparing a player plus cash deal with £20m and a range of younger players on offer to Spurs.

Well clearly this is a bid that is doomed to fail. Tottenham managed to keep Luka Modric from pursuing his move to Chelsea and chairman Daniel Levy is not ready to offload any of the club’s major players and Harry Redknapp is also unlikely to consider selling any of the first team players who have helped to cement the North London club’s position in the top four.
Also an offer of £20m plus a player or two from the periphery of the Nou Camp squad is pretty derisory given the potential and form shown by Gareth Bale over the past two years. The Welsh winger has been incredibly consistent and is now a pivotal part of Tottenham’s attacking intentions.
The 22 year old has been incredibly effective over the past two seasons and this term has notched up eight goals in 18 games as well as a plethora of assists.
