Former Stamford Bridge boss keen on trio.
Carlo Ancelotti is expected to raid former club Chelsea for new signings as he takes over at PSG.
The Italian coach, who has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in May, is expected to fly out to the Middle East on Sunday to join PSG’s winter camp in Dubai, which finishes with a friendly against another of his former clubs, AC Milan, on January 4.
By then, Ancelotti will hope to have tied up a deal for Brazilian defender Alex, on the transfer list and banned from the training ground at Chelsea after falling out of favour with manager Andre Villas-Boas. Alex has made just three Barclays Premier League appearances this season.
Ancelotti’s move has also sparked speculation that Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda could follow Alex to Paris.
Given that Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen to reverse the ageing nature of his Blues squad and looking to put his stamp on the Stamford Bridge squad he may just be open to a deal to sell this trio. Of the players mentioned Brazilian defender Alex has stated his intention to leave and was therefore placed on the transfer list, Florent Malouda has also made noises about wanting to move on due to the lack of playing time.
However Villas-Boas may not be so keen to allow Didier Drogba to leave, certainly not in January. The Ivory Coast striker has hit a good run of form of late and though his contract is due to run out in the summer the West London club are reportedly looking to extend the veteran’s deal though the former Marseille man may be keen to make a move back to Ligue 1 though a move to PSG would be very contentious given the hatred that exists between his former club and the Parisians.
