Austrian defender set for White Hart Lane?
Tottenham Hotspur are having a tremendous season.
Should they win their game in hand, Spurs could draw level on points with Manchester United in 2nd place in the Premier League.
However, Harry Redknapp is well aware there are imperfections in his team, despite playing some scintillating football amongst the best in the division.
Emmanuel Adebayor has done extremely well for Tottenham so far, but he is only at White Hart Lane on a temporary basis, and a permanent deal for a striker will likely be the priority in the summer.
Spurs other area of focus would be in defence. Though they have kept the second most clean sheets in the division so far, Redknapp’s team are not the strongest at left back.
Kyle Walker has slotted in on the right side of defence to considerable acclaim, but on the opposite side Benoit Assou-Ekotto has never truly convinced – despite a good understanding with Gareth Bale.
Christian Fuchs of FC Schalke 04, besides having an excellent name, would be a fine purchase.
The 25 year-old Austrian is a reliable defender who can cross the ball superbly and hit an excellent free kick.
He only moved to Gelsenkirchen in the summer, but has already demonstrated that he has the ability to play for a big club.
Could Spurs be the team to sign him?
