White Hart Lane bench warmer linked with Anfield move.
Liverpool are believed to be pondering a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nico Kranjcar as the Anfield side continue to look to add some creativity to their midfield.
The club are looking mainly at acquiring a new striker but would like to add some Premiership experience to their midfield, having lost Meireles to Chelsea at the end of the summer transfer window.
This may be a sensible inexpensive signing for Liverpool to consider though many will wonder if Niko Kranjcar offers anything better than what already resides in Kenny Dalglish’s squad. The Croatian international is undoubtedly talented but has struggled to persuade Harry Redknapp of his worth, hence his continued bench warming at the White Hart Lane side, but would a move from North London to Merseyside just be a case of switching one subs bench for another?
In the summer Liverpool brought in Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam to add more quality in the centre of the park and on the wings and even though Raul Meireles left for Chelsea the Anfield side were still happily able to sned the likes of Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani out on loan deals, such are the options open to Dalglish. Kranjcar is arguably not an improvement and may therefore not be the best option for club or player.
The likes of PSG and Aston Villa are also linked with the 27 year old Zagreb born playmaker who may feel that a move abroad may be the most likely way to re-ignite his career.
