Stamford Bridge youngster seeking experience in France.
Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta has joined Ligue 1 club Dijon until the end of the season.
“Paid by Chelsea for six months, French international hope Gaël Kakuta has joined DFCO officially until the end of the season,” read an official Dijon club statement.
Kakuta had already indicated his firm interest in the move, stating that the French team’s style of play was a key reason for his joining.
“I made the choice to go to Dijon because I saw them play and they play good football,” Kakuta said to Canal Plus yesterday.
“Coach Patrice Carteron convinced me. I hope it will be finalised in the next 24 hours. Talks are still going on.”
Gael Kakuta previously went on loan to Fulham this season, but made little impression.
Chelsea’s coaching staff will hope that the young Frenchman is granted more playing time in Ligue 1 than he was in the Premier League with the Cottagers.
