Andrei Arshavin likely to leave Emirates Stadium this summer.
Arsenal could replace Andrei Arshavin with FC Schalke 04 youngster Julian Draxler, who is tipped for big things by the Gelsenkirchen club.
Arshavin enjoyed a sensational start to his career at Emirates Stadium, but it is believed that Arsene Wenger has grown tired of his lethargic performances for the club recently.
The Russian is not currently part of Wenger’s first choice XI, with Gervinho and Theo Walcott mostly preferred either side of Robin van Persie – though Arshavin could be granted a prolonged run i the team with Gervinho at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Draxler meanwhile is a precocious young talent, and was today named by FIFA as one of the best young players to look out for in 2012.
He is a right footed player who tends to play on the left flank, cutting inside, with Germany manager Joachim Low recently hailing his “great talent” and “cheeky, carefree style.”
Would a swap deal with Schalke for Arshavin win the signature of Draxler?
