Arsene Wenger looks to resolve injury crisis by bringing former Chelsea man to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger is closing in on a deal to bring Man City’s Wayne Bridge to the Emirates Stadium on a loan deal as the Gunners boss looks to ease an injury crisis that has left Arsenal without any recognised full backs.
The 31 year old former Southampton and Chelsea man hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football this season and has fallen out with boss Roberto Mancini leaving him with little or no chance of breaking into the Etihad Stadium side’s first team set-up.
Arsenal have a seemingly endless injury list that has seen full-backs Bacary Sagna, Andre Santos, Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs out and even make-shift left back Francis Coquelin has been ruled out after he suffered a hamstring injury during the North London club’s FA Cup tie with Leeds United on Monday night.
Bridge will apparently sign a deal to see out the rest of the season at Arsenal but Wenger has no intention of looking to make any deal a permanent one as he has more than enough able options when all his defenders return from injury.
The former England international regular is a hugely experienced Premier League performer, with over 400 top tier appearances to his name, and spent the second half of last season out on loan to West Ham.
