Could Gaston Ramirez solve the Old Trafford midfield crisis?
Manchester United are the latest club to be linked with Uruguay international midfielder Gaston Ramirez, currently plying his trade for Bologna.
The 21 year-old star was thought to be being lined up by Kenny Dalglish as the long term heir to Steven Gerrard, but the England star’s return to form and fitness has seemingly seen him elect against the move.
Instead, Manchester United could swoop for Ramirez, who has lit up Serie A with his strength, dribbling ability, passing accuracy and creativity.
He also takes a mean free kick, and his record of 4 goals and 3 assists in 12 league starts makes him the clear shining light in a quite average Bologna team.
Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson convinced Paul Scholes to come out of retirement for the Red Devils recently, but he is far from the long term solution.
Could Gaston Ramirez become the successor to Scholes that is so clearly required at Old Trafford?
