Emirates Stadium boss to make Bundesliga side an offer he hopes can’t be refused.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is growing tired of the lacklustre displays provided by Arshavin and looks sure to oversee his departure from the Emirates this summer.
That will create space in the north London club’s squad for a new and exciting attacking talent – and 18-year-old Draxler fits the bill.
Current club Schalke have big plans for the right-footed winger who plays on the left and have hailed him as a special and precocious talent.
But they may be in no position to resist the financial muscle of Arsenal and the lure of the Premier League to the player.
A swap deal with Arshavin heading to Germany is not entirely out of the question.
This may well make a great deal of sense but will depend on Schalke being willing to swap one of the hottest prospects in German football with a Russian who has been out of sorts for the best part of 18 months. Therefore it may take some cash on top of the 30 year old winger to persuade the Bundesliga to even consider such a departure.
For some time now Andrei Arshavin has looked disinterested and lethargic and there has been much talk of a likely exit with a move back to Russia said to be the most likely destination for the former Zenit man. However maybe a move to Germany will appeal to the wide-man?
Huub Stevens’s Schalke side are mounting a realistic title charge and sit in third spot in the table just three points off top of the table Bayern Munich. The club has depending greatly on the goals coming from Raul and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, perhaps the addition of more creativity can help provide even more ammunition for the Spanish/Dutch pair?
Draxler is a teenager with a great deal of potential and the 18 year old is already capped at German Under 21 level and has made almsot 50 appearances for Schalke and the box to box midfielder has attracted a lot of attention and the young starlet will be more than aware of Wenger’s reputation for making the most out of young talent.
