Emirates Stadium and Anfield sides linked with move for solid centre back.
Sky Sports understands a number of clubs are waiting in the wings to make a move for Blackburn defender Scott Dann before the transfer window closes.
Blackburn are already struggling to keep hold of wantaway defender Chris Samba and it is believed they risk losing Dann this month as well.
The possible departure of Samba could spark a bidding war for Dann with club’s hoping to capitalise on Blackburn’s troubles by making a move for the highly-rated central defender.
Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is keen on being reunited with Dann having worked with the 24-year-old during his time in charge of Birmingham.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also thought to be monitoring developments at Ewood Park with both clubs keen on Dann before his switch to Blackburn last summer.

Scott Dann is a very capable, if not spectacular, centre back who found himself at Blackburn Rovers after Birmingham City were relegated last term. It seems that the England international hopeful is not keen on back to back relegation’s and therefore a move away from Ewood Park may be in order.
One wonders what motivation there is for Steve Kean to sell this month, unless of course the defender has a relegation release clause that could see the 24 year old leave on a free, similar to the one Demba Ba had with West Ham last term. The Lancashire club may also find it hard to keep hold of Christopher Samba, who has stated his intention to leave with a number of prospective suitors keen on the Congo international.
Arsenal’s need for a new centre back is arguably more urgent than Liverpool’s and Arsene Wenger may well feel that the time is right to make an offer after his side pulled out a shocking defensive display at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea City edged the North London side in a five goal thriller.
Thomas Vermaelen has struggled with injuries and Per Mertesacker has struggled to adjust to the pace of the Premier League whilst at least Laurent Koscielny has kept his heads whilst those around him lose theirs, the Frenchman arguably being one of Arsenal’s players of the year thus far this term.
Liverpool on the other hand have conceded less than every club in the top tier, other than leaders Man City, and even though Daniel Agger does have well known injury concerns Kenny Dalglish can still call upon veteran Jamie Carragher and youngsters like Sebastian Coates and Danny Wilson if needed.
