Manchester United winger Ravel Morrison is likely to depart at the end of the season, claims his agent Nick Rubery.
The 18 year-old starlet has not been able to agree a new deal at Old Trafford, and has garnered a reputation as a perceived troublemaker.
That resulted from a two counts of witness intimidation in early 2011, but speaking to Italian radio station Mana Sports, Rubery refuted claims against the behaviour of his client away from the pitch.
“The rumours circulating about [Morrison's] character are not the truth,” said Rubery.
“He is a good guy.
“There is talk of aggression on the field, when in fact he plays fair.”
Rubery also revealed that contract negotiations with Man Utd had stalled, and he believed that the teenager would leave the club in the summer.
“I spoke with a director of Manchester United, but we have rejected 58,000 Euros per month.
I do not know where he will go next, but at the end of the season, when he is without a contract, he will leave the Red Devils and the best that Manchester will be able to do is obtain compensation,” concluded Rubery.
Morrison is thought to be the brightest young talent to have emerged at Old Trafford in fifteen years – since the golden generation of Gary and Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and David Beckham.
His wonderful control with the ball at his feet, tremendous array of tricks and eye for a pass earmark him as a potential great.
However, it looks decreasingly likely he will live up to that potential at Manchester United.
