French winger on Emirates Stadium radar.
According to reports, Arsenal are considering a late January move for Real Sociedad starlet, Antoine Griezmann, after being denied access to several of their more prominent targets.
Arsene Wenger’s side has been linked with moves for numerous wide talents.
The wingers have performed well in their respective roles this campaign but with news emerging that Theo Walcott is being chased by a number of European clubs, cover may be required should the England international exit the Emirates Stadium this year.
Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda are just two widemen being mentioned with a switch to the Gunners with Adam Johnson’s name also popping up.
Griezmann’s signature would be expected to cost Arsenal around £12m and despite the club’s reluctance to buy so far this window, the capture of another youngster in need of sculpting may tempt Arsene Wenger.
Antoine Griezmann has become a mainstay at Real Sociedad over the past two and a half seasons, racking up 100 appearances for the La Liga side and moving to within the fringes of the senior French national team set-up. He may be just the kind of player Arsene Wenger is looking for as he hopes to boost his attack.
With Theo Walcott and Andrei Arshavin struggling to hit a consistent run of form perhaps a move for the intelligent 20 year old winger makes sense? That said, the Gunners boss does have the likes of Gervinho and youngsters Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ryo Miyaichi to call upon as up and coming back-up.
Griezmann is regularly named as one of the hottest prospects in European football and as such may well be a player that La Liga strugglers Sociedad struggle to keep hold of.
