Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could be back in action within a month, according to his manager Arsene Wenger.
The England international sensation has had a nightmare season to date, with a serious ankle fracture followed by a similar injury in a different area of the ankle.
Still, his campaign is not yet over.
“Jack can be back within a month if all goes well,” said a hopeful Wenger in his press conference ahead of the UEFA Champions League tie with AC Milan.
“The recovery of his latest problems looks very good. The latest scan was very positive.
“We go cautiously step-by-step because we tried to push him back quicker in the first instance and he had a setback.
“So this time we have to be cautious and not go too quick.
“He can be back before the end of the season, of course.”
Wilshere was one of the brightest sparks for Arsenal last season; along with Laurent Koscielny he was the only Gunners player to shine in both Champions League matches against Barcelona.
His driving runs from deep in midfield, tenacity when not in possession, and keen eye for a through ball could all help Arsenal in the final stages of the season.
