Spurs switch as Lille star heads for the exit
Belgium and Lille midfielder Eden Hazard admits he could join Tottenham this summer.
The 21-year-old is one of the hottest properties in Europe at the moment and is reported to have attracted the interest of the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Arsenal.
The midfielder appears to have his heart set on a move to the Barclays Premier League this summer and he concedes White Hart Lane may be his destination.
Hazard denied reports he has already agreed terms with Tottenham, but he did tell Belgian TV station RTBF that a move to join Harry Redknapp’s team is possible.
He said: ‘Maybe it will be Tottenham. It is a great English club.
‘I said that I would go to England and there is very good players (at Spurs).”
‘I have not yet signed. This is going to happen soon’.

This would be quite a coup. Tottenham have had a great season and look like the only likely contenders to Man City & Man United for the Premier League title and it would be a terrific statement of intent and would perhaps prove to Harry Redknapp’s squad just how far the North London club have come and may help to prevent their big stars from being tempted by moves elsewhere.
The fact that these comments suggest that 21 year old Eden Hazard would choose Tottenham over reported interest, quoted by this source, from Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid will surprise some but perhaps the Belgian international feels that of the Premier League clubs mentioned the White Hart Lane side is the only one on the up. And the Lille man may feel that a move to the Bernabeu could see him being lost in the sea of stars Jose Mourinho has in his squad, a situation that has seen the likes of Kaka fail to secure regular first team football.
Hazard helped his Lille side to their first domestic title in over 50 years last term and boss Rudi Garcia will find it hard to keep his prized asset from leaving, not least as other stars, such as Yohan Cabaye and Gervinho, left last summer and striker Moussa Sow left last month.
Lille not find themselves some 11 points off big spenders PSG in the Ligue 1 title race but will hope to retain a spot in the Champions League for next term.
Hazard, who only turned 21 last month, has already notched up over 175 top tier appearances for Lille, and over the past 18 months has amassed 23 goals and 17 assists as he has become a more and more effective attacking weapon. The adaptable attacker, who can play in an advanced central midfield role or our on the flanks, also has 25 national team caps.
