Chelsea hope to snare Manchester United youngster Paul Pogba this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The French midfielder, who is 18 years of age, has enormous potential, and big things are expected of him in the not too distant future.

Whether that is at Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge remains to be seen though, with Chelsea scouts seen at Manchester United reserves’ last game against Bolton.

Pogba scored the winner in that game, and has recently started to be included in first team affairs much more often.

Indeed, he has flown to Amsterdam with the Red Devils’ squad to face Ajax in the UEFA Europa League – a competition in which Sir Alex Ferguson may elect to blood a few more youngsters.

However, Pogba’s contract situation is what has caused much of the concern at his current club, as his deal currently expires in the summer.

Pogba has most strongly been linked with a Juventus transfer, but Sir Alex Ferguson places responsibility for such stories firmly at the hands of Pogba’s agents – of which there have been quite a few over the years.

The thought inside Old Trafford is that the teenage midfielder himself wants to stay at Manchester United, and will sign a new deal before the end of the season.

However, until he does, there will be constant speculation over the future of Paul Pogba.
