Arsenal are reportedly readying a summer bid for Eden Hazard which will comprise a significant cash sum, in the region of £25m, as well as the addition of the choice of one of a number of possible Gunners players as a makeweight in a deal that Arsene Wenger hopes will tempt Lille into selling their prized asset.

The young Belgian international has made it clear he will be looking to leave the Stade Metropole at the end of the season and a number of sides are said to be keen on snapping up the 20 year old, who helped his Lille side to their first Ligue 1 title in over 50 years last term.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Barcelona have all been strongly linked with interest in the goal-scoring playmaker but Wenger will hope that the offer of a big cash sum as well as offering Lille boss Rudi Garcia his choice of Arsenal players, including former Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh and winger Andrei Arshavin, will help the Emirates Stadium side win the race for the much coveted youngster.

Hazard has been a regular at Lille for four seasons and despite having only recently turned 21 the adaptable midfielder has notched up over 200 appearances for club and country and has matured into a very effective attacking weapon.

Arsene Wenger will see his club’s strict wage structure overhauled in the summer helping the North London side to better fight other members of Europe’s elite when it comes to being able to offer top level salaries.

The Arsenal boss will hope that this change in direction will help to better attract new additions which in turn may help to persuade Dutchman Robin Van Persie to sign a new contract this summer.
