Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku looks set to head out on loan this summer, having not gained the first team experience he hoped for so far in his career.
TalkSPORT suggest that the two teams interested in taking on the Belgium international on loan are Serie A side SS Lazio and Borussia Monchengladbach of the German Bundesliga.
Lazio certainly require a striker, with Djibril Cisse having departed in the January transfer window for Queens Park Rangers.
Emiliano Alfaro was signed in the same month for the Italian team, but it is likely the Uruguayan will require time to settle.
As would Lukaku of course, and the fact that no English clubs are mentioned as potential destinations seems rather odd.
If Lukaku is supposed to succeed Didier Drogba anytime soon, one would think he would instead move to a club in the Premier League – and it is surprising that no team further down the division has declared their interest to Chelsea to bolster their attack for next season.
At least Lukaku has been in fine form for the reserves this season, but the time will come soon when he must step up to the top level.
A few sporadic Carling Cup appearances are not the best way to develop, and the last thing Lukaku will want to do is stagnate at this vital stage of his career.
