Anfield side keen on Nou Camp attacker.
Liverpool join race to sign Tello as interest hots up for Barcelona wonderkid
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Barcelona starlet Cristian Tello.
The 20-year-old Spain youth international is out of contract at the end of next season and has been targeted by several clubs, including Valencia, Malaga and Benfica.
Pep Guardiola has tried to convince the forward that he has a future at the Nou Camp by promoting him from the B team and giving him eight appearances in the last three months.

Given the performances Cristian Tello has put in over the past few months a new contract will surely be offered to the young attacker and if that’s the case then the Spanish Under 20 international is very likely to put pen to paper and remain at the club he first joined at age 11.
The 20 year old has been used primarily in a right left role and has not looked out of place when called upon during what has been a sticky period of La Liga form for the Catalan side. Tello has notched up four goals in eight appearances for the first team and has pushed himself ahead of fellow youngster Isaac Cuenca in Pep Guardiola’s plans.
Given that Guardiola is looking to build for the future he is unlikely to look to see any of his top talents poached by other sides and as such Liverpool will have their work cut out if they hope to lure Tello to Anfield.
Liverpool have adopted a youthful transfer policy over the past 18 months and have brought in the likes of Sebastian Coates, Andy Carroll and Jordan Henderson to help boost the club’s future plans.
Liverpool’s director of football Damien Comolli successfully managed to tempt Giovani dos Santos to move from the Nou Camp to Tottenham when he was at the North London club and will hope to complete a similar transfer by bringing Tello to the Merseyside club.
