Emirates Stadium side keen on Fiorentina starlet.
According to sources, Arsenal are ready to step up their interest in signing Serbian playmaker, Adem Ljajic.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the midfielder in the past but a move has so far failed to come to fruition.
Ljajic has made 49 appearances for Fiorentina since 2010, netting on three occasions for the Serie A side.
If the Serbian international were to make the switch to the English top flight, his signing would be expected to cost around £10m.
Adem Ljajic is considered by those in the know as one of the hottest prospects in European football and Arsene Wenger’s interest in the Fiorentina man is not new but this source believes a bid for the £10m rated youngster is in the offing and it may well prove to be a very wise bid to make.
The 22 year old was set to join Man United in 2009 but Sir Alex Ferguson’s plan to bring in the then Partizan Belgrade star was thwarted due to work permit issues. The Serbian international has since moved to Serie A and after a shaky start at Fiorentina is now a player in great demand.
Ljalic may well be very tempted by a move to the North London club, knowing that Wenger is an expert at getting the most out of young talent and given that Fiorentina are firmly entrenched in mid-table mediocrity a move this summer may well come to fruition.
