Emirates Stadium side keen on Rennes midfielder.
Arsenal remain interested in making a move for Yann M’Vila, according to reports, and will consider a summer move for the star following reports that the North London side may received increased funds for transfers.
The French sensation has been linked with a move to the Premier League club for around two years now, but a purchase has so far failed to materialize with his current side, Rennes, remaining just as stern in their protection of their star.
If M’Vila were to complete a transfer to the Premier League, his signature would be expected to cost in excess of £23m as Rennes seek to hold onto their talisman, however Wenger has stated his admiration for his countryman on more than one occasion and may be forced to splurge in hunt for his long-term target.
Yann M’Vila is very much a Wenger-style signing. A young Frenchman with boundless ability who currently plies his trade for a club who he has clearly outgrown. The 21 year old defensive midfielder could add more strength to the Gunners midfield and the rangy Rennes man could well be a very useful signing to make but one wonders if the Emirates Stadium boss is ready to spend such a fee on the youngster.
Arsenal are not known for splurging the cash and such a fee for a relatively inexperienced performer seems a steep price that the North London side are unlikely to meet but perhaps M’Vila’s side will consider a lesser fee, especially if they fail to secure a European qualification spot for next term.
Though Wenger has the likes of Alex Song and Emmanuel Frimpong to call upon to add steel to the Arsenal midfield, M’Vila is arguably a clearly still a player the French boss is interested in.
