Emirates Stadium side set to land attacker.
LUKAS PODOLSKI has been given the green light for a summer switch to Arsenal by his Cologne manager Stale Solbakken.
“Lukas’s decision is important for us all, but also for him,” said Solbakken. “We must respect this.
“It is important that he has everything under control and can concentrate on the upcoming games.”

Arsenal are closing in on the transfer of Germany striker Lukas Podolski, who has agreed terms to move to the Emirates.
Sportsmail revealed earlier this month that Arsenal were eager to rebuild, and bidding for Podolski and Germany midfielder and team-mate Mario Gotze is a good start.

It seems that Arsenal’s move to sign Lukas Podolski is almost a done deal now that the attacker’s Koln boss has given the all clear to such a move. Solbakken clearly feels that a move is on the cards but wants to make sure that all talk of a long awaited Premier League transfer is put to the backburner for the remainder of the season.
Koln are dangerously close to the relegation zone despite Podolski’s return of 15 goals in 18 Bundesliga matches this term, a situation that makes it all the more likely that the 26 year old will call time on his RheinEnergieStadion career.
The Polish born German international begun his professional career at Koln before making an ill fated move to Bayern Munich before returning in 2009. Overall the adaptable attacker has scored 83 goals in 169 games for the club and a move to Arsenal seems very likely this summer just so long as the two clubs can agree a price.
The Daily Mail suggests that Koln want £15m and the Gunners are ready to offer £8m but a real fair price for Podolski probably falls somewhere neatly between the two valuations. Arsene Wenger is looking to boost his attacking options having seen the likes of Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho fail to make an impact whilst South Korean Chu Park-Young remains pretty much untried since his summer move to the Emirates Stadium from Monaco.
A move a high profile player like Podolski could also help to convince Robin Van Persie of Arsenal’s ambitions which could be key to getting the Gunners skipper to sign a new contract.
