Emirates Stadium side favourites to land duo.
There is a “90 per cent chance” Lukas Podolski will move to Arsenal in the summer, according to the former Bayer Leverkusen manager Reiner Calmund.
German newspaper Bild reported this week that the Gunners had already agreed personal terms with the striker, and his o wn manager at Cologne also admitted he may lose him at the end of the season.
Now Calmund says he has spoken to the 26-year-old and is convinced he will be at The Emirates next season.
“I would bet a fortune on it! I talked with Lukas during the carnival. He is fixated on clubs in England, and I believe that there is a 90 per cent chance that he will move to Arsenal,” Calmund told German TV channel SPORT1.
“Nothing has been made official yet. Koln calculated a price of €20m. Arsenal, however, will not easily blow out €20m for a player who has just a year left on his contract,” he added.

These sources believe that Arsenal are very much in pole position to land this pair and there is no denying that both talents are very much Arsene Wenger style signings and both are long term targets who are nearing the exits at their respective clubs.
Lukas Podolski has been in fine form this season, scoring 15 goals in 18 matches, but his Koln side sit near the relegation zone the Polish born German international is apparently ready to leave the Bundesliga side and the experienced 26 year old could well add a great deal of quality to the Gunners attack.
Robin Van Persie has pretty much been the only viable attacking option over the past 18 months and whilst the Dutchman has not been found wanting Wenger will feel he needs other players who can hit the back of the net and help share the goal-scoring burden and Podolski is a the type of high profile signing that should help to prove to the Arsenal captain of their ambitions.
Hoilett has been a rare bright spark for Blackburn Rovers during what has been a very testing season. The 21 year old Canadian winger has been a regular at Ewood Park for the past three seasons but his contract comes to an end this summer and the youngster has shown no interest in signing a new deal and will be all the more likely to leave if Steve Kean’s side fail to beat the drop.
Arsenal will hope to secure a top four finish which will make it all the more possible for Wenger to attract the players he wants to bring to the club to help end the seven season long silverware drought.
