Manchester United are reportedly considering making a move for Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin, who has barely made an impact at the Bernabeu since his move to the La Liga giants from Borussia Dortmund. The Turkish international is said to have become frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities and this has led to interest in the talented playmaker from a number of prospective suitors and Sir Alex Ferguson is warming to the idea of joining the race this summer.

Thus far Sahin has made just one appearance for Real Madrid, coming on as a sub against Osasuna last November, and this has led speculation that the German born midfielder may be open to a move away from the Spanish side and interest from Man United could well tempt the 23 year old.

Sahin made over 150 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, helping Jurgen Klopp’s side to a Bundesliga title last term, before moving to Real Madrid and the goal-scoring attack minded midfielder may well be a player Ferguson turns to as he looks to add creativity to his squad.

Ferguson has been linked with a number of possible additions to add more of a goal-scoring and assist-making edge to the centre of his midfield, the likes of Wesley Sneijder and Luka Modric being the most prominent, however a move for Sahin may better suit the Scot’s youthful transfer policy.

Jose Mourinho may well be willing to sell the summer addition as he appears to be very much surplus to requirements at Real Madrid. Though injury has played a part in his lack of involvement the fact that the the players of the calibre of Mesut Ozil and Kaka stand in his way may well aid Nuri Sahin’s decision to accept offers from interested parties.
