The Scot will continue his youthful transfer policy as he looks to strengthen areas he feels need improvement, especially on the European stage and the pair are valued at a combined value of around £55m.
Ferguson has personally scouted Lille playmaker Eden Hazard and has been very impressed with the young Belgian’s performances over the past 18 months, displays that have helped his Ligue 1 side to their first domestic title in over 50 years.
Man United are just one of many of Europe’s elite who are keen on the 21 year old but Sir Alex Ferguson will look to beat off competition for the talented, adaptable midfielder and has the financial backing of his board to mount a major bid for the £35m rated Lille star.
Sir Alex Ferguson has had first hand experience of what Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez can do and the Man United boss sees the Spanish international as a perfect long term replacement for Paul Scholes in the centre of the park. The 23 year old has amassed over 200 appearances for his San Mames side and is heavily linked with a move away from the La Liga side this summer.
The 6ft 3in £20m rated rated rangy midfielder has the physique that lends itself well to the Premier League and would surely be tempted by a move to Man United.
