Anfield forward targeted.
The last thing Liverpool need is more speculation surrounding Luis Suarez but it’s being reported by TMW in Italy that Juventus are interested in the Uruguayan striker and could make a move this summer.
It’s not the first time Suarez has been linked with Juventus, the player has also been rumoured to be interesting PSG, however Suarez himself has made efforts to calm supporters by saying he’s happy at Liverpool.
None of that has stopped this latest news. TMW say Juventus are desperate to strengthen upfront and see Suarez as one of their prime candidates for the position. Beppe Marotta, a club Director, is the one drawing up a list of targets and Suarez is on it.
The Italian club would offer Milos Krasic as part exchange and hope they can work out a deal acceptable to both Liverpool and Suarez. Krasic was a big money signing from CSKA Moscow but the move hasn’t worked out and the club have been trying to sell him for a while.
Liverpool can ill afford to lose Luis Suarez, arguably the club’s only effective attacking option at present, but there must be a fear that if the Anfield club’s season nose dives any further then the Uruguayan may well be left wondering about a possible move to Juventus or elsewhere.
Kenny Dalglish could well be about to preside over Liverpool’s worst top tier finish in over 50 years and if the Merseyside club does not secure the FA Cup, to go with their Carling Cup success, then one does wonder if the club’s top performers will consider their futures.
Suarez has netted 16 goals and assisted another 10 in the 45 games he has notched up for the club since his move from Ajax just over 14 months ago and despite the eight match ban he was handed the striker is still be some distance the club’s top scorer this term.
Andy Carroll has struggled for form and veterans Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt have helped out when necessary but clearly are not long term options and Liverpool will surely not consider offers from Juventus for 25 year old striker Suarez.
Milos Krasic’s inclusion into any offer will not be all that tempting as the Serbian international hasn’t done well in Turin and is a bit part player in Antonio Conte’s first team picture.
