Old Trafford forward closing in on Istanbul move this summer.
Turkish reports are stating that Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov is close to agreeing a deal to join Istanbul giants Galatasaray this summer. Fanatik believe the Old Trafford forward will move to the Türk Telekom Arena as boss Fatih Terim looks to bring in big name signings to help build on their likely domestic success this term.
Galatasary are also looking to sign Hamit Altintop, who has struggled to break into the Real Madrid first team since his move to the Bernabeu from Bayern Munich last summer.
Berbatov is set to be out of contract at the end of the season and Sir Alex Ferguson has already publicly stated his belief that the former Tottenham man would leave for pastures new and whilst there has been much talk of a return to the Bundesliga the Bulgarian international is seemingly leaning towards making the move to Galatasary.
Galatasaray look set to clinch their first domestic title in four seasons and are ready to put to bed the awful previous campaign that saw them finish a lowly eighth spot. Terim’s side sit four points clear of Fenerbache as the Turkish league enters it’s play-off phase and a return to the Champions League will no doubt help the club attract top level signings.
31 year old Berbatov has barely figured this term, despite finishing last season as the joint top scorer in the Premier League, but has still managed to score seven goals even though he has made just five top tier starts.
