Howard Webb begins his investigation.
Real Madrid suffered the indignity of boots and shirts being stolen from their dressing room prior to kick-off – Cristiano Ronaldo lost three pairs of his garish, monogrammed footwear.

Given that the referee for the big occasion was a certain Howard Webb, who is of course a police sergeant in his spare time, we would imagine a full scale investigation is underway and the Rotherham born official will leave no stone un-turned in search of the missing boots and garments.
This could all have the makings of the kind of detective novel Steve Bruce now has more time to concentrate on.
But seriously. How exactly could someone, presumably even more than one person, waltz into the Allianz Arena dressing room and take a huge collection of boots and shirts without anyone noticing?
No doubt Jose Mourinho will sit on this evidence as a worthy excuse should his Bernabeu side fail to overturn the narrow deficit they take into the second leg next week.
