Roberto Mancini looks poised to add to his striking options this summer by securing the signature of Bilbao frontman Fernando Llorente…
MANCHESTER CITY are close to snapping up Athletic Bilbao hitman Fernando Llorente for £30million.
Agents for both clubs are understood to be involved and negotiations for a five-year deal for the Spanish striker are at the detailed stage.

Llorente has enjoyed a wonderful season for the Basque side, netting 23 times in just over 30 appearances. However, despite a run to the Europa League semi-finals, which saw them knock out Manchester United, Bilbao are struggling in seventh place in La Liga and are looking to cash in on their prize assets.
With this in mind, Bilbao are likely to sell their top hitman. It is reported that an offer in the region of £30m will be enough for the Spanish side to part ways with the striker.
The 27-year-old Spain international has been eyed by all the Premier League big boys of late, with the likes of Manchester United and Spurs also showing interest in the striker, with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp an open admirer of Llorente.
Llorente – who has seven goals in 20 games for Spain and is likely to feature at Euro 2012 – is a long term target of Tottenham boss Redknapp. But Spurs will not be able to compete with the £200,000-a-week salary that City are prepared to offer the striker.
In other news, it is unlikely that Tottenham will sign on-loan striker Adebeyor, with the player reportedly unwilling to take a wage-cut in order to join the North London side.
