This morning’s Metro suggests that Newcastle ace Demba Ba could leave St James’ park this summer, with the striker apparently unhappy with his new role on the left side of midfield.Redknapp has already told Tottenham officials they need a quality striker to compete with Europe’s elite, and recommended Newcastle’s Ba as an ideal option.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has made it no secret that he is an admirer of the player, and with rumours of a £7million or less release clause doing the rounds in today’s papers, the Spurs boss will be hoping they can get Ba on the cheap.
The north London side are thought to be considering a bid which would also offer players in exchange, including former Magpies defender Sebastien Bassong, or Croatian playmaker Niko Kranjcar.
When initially asked about a reported £10m release-clause for Ba, Redknapp said: ‘I think you will find it is a lot less than that.’
Asked if was as little as £7m, Redknapp added: ‘Even less than that.’
Ba is rumoured to be unsettled at Newcastle, having been made to play on the left wing following the arrival of compatriot Pappis Cisse in January. But despite admitting his interest in joining French outfit Paris Saint-Germain, the 26-year-old told the media this week he is happy at present.
‘It’s always a dream for me to play one day at PSG, but I’m happy where I am in Newcastle. The English league suits me perfectly.’
‘I have always supported PSG and it’s a club that is enticing’
