From a position of strength Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have slipped up twice in recent weeks, allowing Manchester City to whittle away an eight point deficit to just three points.

With three points separating the two sides going into Monday’s crucial title decider, it means a City win will see them overtake United at the top of the league, with Mancini’s side boasting a superior goal difference.
However, Old Trafford legend Bryan Robson insists his former side still hold all the aces.
“It’s a great challenge for both clubs because the team who does win this game will probably go on to win the title,” Robson said.
“I’m saying that but Newcastle are flying at the moment and so Manchester City have got a real tough game when they go up to St James’ Park.
“I still feel it is [Manchester United’s] advantage, even though City have got the home game. It is in United’s hands.
“If we don’t get beaten in the derby game then we have got a fantastic chance of winning the title but it is going to be a close thing.”
In other news, Sir Alex Furguson has admitted his liking for Lille star Eden Hazard, adding to speculation that Manchester United could make a bid this summer.
“When I went to watch Lyon versus Lille last time, of course I saw Hazard playing but also other players which is part of my job,” Ferguson told French radio station RMC.
“I can confirm Hazard is a very good player, he has so many qualities, he is very fast over the first ten metres,”
