Rumours linking Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic away from Old Trafford seem to have heated up recently, with Italian giants Juventus now being linked with the United defender.
The likes of Juventus, Roma and AC Milan have all expressed an interest in the past, following early rumours which suggested that his family had struggled to settle down in Manchester.
However, there has not yet been an official approach made for the player since is arrival at Old Trafford in 2006, and if there were to be, it would have to be a substantial one for Sir Alex to even consider letting the player leave.
Representatives of the defender claim there is no truth in the recent stories linking Vidic away, with the Serbia international focused on his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury.
“Vidic is still out with a cruciate ligament injury,” Vidic’s agent told tuttomercatoweb.com, as reported by Sky.
“A future in Italy? You have to consider that he has a non-EU passport and that would make it difficult for him to arrive in Serie A.
“I can assure you that I have never spoken with Juventus about Nemanja.”
The 30-year-old centre-back suffered knee ligament damage in the Champions League defeat at Basel in December, with United originally fearing he would be out of action for up to a year after he underwent surgery on New Year’s Day.
Vidic has become one of Sir Alex’s most important players since moving to Old Trafford from Spartak Moscow for £7 million in 2006, winning four Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League.
