Whether or not this will affect a summer move to the Emirates is yet to be determined…Arsenal’s bid to sign Yann M’Vila is on ice after the Rennes midfielder was arrested after allegedly punching a 17-year-old. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made the talented 21-year-old one of his top targets of the summer and was hoping to wrap up a £17million deal in the next few weeks.
Reports coming out of France this morning say that Arsenal transfer target and France international Yann M’Vila spent Sunday night in a police cell following the alleged assault of a 17-year-old boy.
The alleged offence took place at the player’s house, in his home town of Vern-sur-Seich. The player denies any wrongdoing.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was reportedly ready to table an offer for the France international – worth in the region of £17m, but may deem in necessary to hold out on the offer until the case is closed.
With the feisty midfielder no stranger to trouble – here’s the same guy who ‘allegedly’ hit a restaurant owner back in 2010 – Wenger will have to decide whether securing a summer transfer to the Emirates is a risk worth taking.
The 21-year-old midfielder is also hot on the radar of Italian giants Inter Milan, with Inter technical director Marco Branca identifying him as one of his targets to strengthen several key areas after a somewhat disastrous season.
M’Vila has already been capped by France on 18 occasions, scoring one goal.
