Harry Redknapp keen on bringing French international to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham have joined the race to sign Philippe Mexes after he decided to leave AC Milan this summer.
According to reports in Italy, the French central defender has been unhappy at his lack of playing time this season, since joining from Juventus.
Mexes has made just 11 starts in the Serie A and the 30-year-old is desperate to be playing regular football at this stage in his career.

Harry Redknapp has had long term issues with the fitness and form of his defensive options and a move to bring in another option at the back would be greatly received by White Hart Lane fans. Philippe Mexes is a hugely experienced campaigner and may well be tempted by a move to the Premier League given that he has barely had a look in with AC Milan this term.
Prior to his move to the San Siro, Mexes had spent seven years at Roma during which time he developed a reputation for determined no nonsense displays that may well be just what Redknapp is after.
This term the Tottenham boss has seen the likes of Ledley King, Michael Dawson and William Gallas all struggle with injuries and whilst this has led to Younes Kaboul’s resurgence in the centre of defence it has also helped to result in a poor run of form that could well lead to the North London side failing to secure a spot in the Champions League for next term, a spot that looked theirs for the taking at the turn of the year.
