Old Trafford boss ready to spend big in order to improve squad for next term. Playmaker, midfield schemer, full-back and star striker targeted.
SIR ALEX FERGUSON will launch a £100 million summer spending bonanza in a bid to prevent Manchester United being replaced by neighbours City as the dominant force in the Premier League.
United could finish the season empty handed for only the fifth time in 23 years following Monday’s derby defeat, which handed the title initiative to City.
Even if there is another twist in the race with United taking advantage of a City slip-up, Ferguson knows his squad need strengthening – especially after their failure to come through an easy Champions League group and early exits from the
Europa League, FA Cup and Carling Cup.

If Man United are looking to match Man City’s spending power in order to make sure they can stand toe to toe with their local rivals in the long run then Sir Alex Ferguson will have to hope that his club’s owners are ready to spend a vast sum in order to do so.
The players earmarked for bids are as follows.
The Lille man is apparently the Scot’s number one summer target and the Belgian has already stated his intention to leave his Ligue 1 side and make his way to the Premier League and whilst the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal are also keen on the youngster it would appear that a move to Man United would be the most tempting offer on the table.
The 21 year old has been in great form of late, racking up 19 goals and 14 assists this term. He could be the type of goal-scoring midfielder that Ferguson has lacked since the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.
