One player who looks set to stay in the Premier League following Wolves’ inevitable relegation to the Championship is Matt Jarvis.
The winger has been the club’s only bright spark this season and, with Championship football on the Horizon, Wolves manager Terry Connor knows now would be a good time to cash in on Jarvis.
Newly promoted Southampton have been the surprise package of the season, gaining automatic promotion for the second season running. And Southampton boss Nigel Atkins will be looking to strengthen his squad this summer if he is to guarantee survival next season.
The Saints manager may see Jarvis as a the perfect summer signing, with his pace and trickery suited to the style of football played at St Mary’s.
In other news, Villa have also shown an interest in the Wolves winger, with manager Alex McLeish rumored to be a fan of the England international.
Villa have suffered a torrid season in the Premier League this year, and the Villa boss will be looking to add to his squad over summer if they are to push for a top six finish next season.
Jarvis joined Wolves from Gillingham in 2007 after an impressive spell with the League two side, where he notched up 12 goals in 110 appearances.
