Latics slap big valuation on young winger.
Wigan have slapped a £10million price tag on Victor Moses in a final bid to ward off suitors from their prize asset.
The 21-year-old forward alerted Liverpool and Tottenham to his availability last month when he broke off contract talks with the Latics, having grown frustrated with the pace of negotiations.
Moses, a Nigeria international, has put together a string of virtuoso performances against the best clubs over the last eight weeks which has increased his number of admirers.

Well this makes little or no sense. The idea that a team would try to ‘scare off’ prospective suitors by putting a price tag on a player seems a little backward. If Wigan had no intention of selling Victor Moses then all they need to do is state publicly ‘Victor Moses is not for sale’ and then the only way the winger would perhaps be placed on the transfer market would be if the youngster himself tried to force a move.
Tottenham’s interest in Moses may relate to the up and down form illustrated by Aaron Lennon this term. Gareth Bale is clearly an automatic choice on the left so perhaps Harry Redknapp is looking an alternative options on the right?
As for right sided wide options Liverpool’s need seems far more pressing given that Jordan Henderson has seemingly been a big waste of money and Kenny Dalglish appears to be looking to the future and has thus frozen out Dirk Kuyt in recent months, to the point that the Dutchman seems likely to leave in the summer.
Moses’s direct running has frightened the life out of many defences over the past couple of months and the Nigerian international may well push for an exit even if the Latics do stay up.
