SNUBBED Theo Walcott has been left stunned by Arsenal failing to hold contract talks before he goes to Euro 2012.
While the Gunners made a big effort to negotiate with Robin Van Persie this week, they made no attempt to speak face to face with Walcott, who also has a year left on his deal.
Chelsea and Tottenham are all aware of the 23-year-old’s unrest at his treatment.
Arsenal are playing a risky game as he can leave on a free next summer.

It would appear that Arsenal’s urgent attempts to get skipper Robin Van Persie to put pen to paper on a new deal are somewhat more frantic than the North London club’s move to get Theo Walcott to do likewise. Whilst the young winger had an up and down season last term one would have thought that the 23 year old is still very much a pivotal part of Arsene Wenger’s plans, right?
The young winger was named in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for next months’ Euro 2012 finals, which could well act as a wake-up call to any potential interested parties and this source believes that two London sides, Chelsea & Tottenham are both on high-alert due to Arsenal seemingly dragging their feet on Walcott’s contract.
Though there were periods of very average form shown by the former Southampton man last term was perhaps the most effective season Walcott has had since his move to the Emirates Stadium in January 2006. The attacker finished the campaign with 11 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.
Wenger will surely look to get Walcott to sign a new deal this summer rather than risk losing the Gunners star for nothing in a year’s time.
Chelsea have a number of wide options at their disposal, with the likes of Juan Mata, Daniel Sturridge, Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda to call upon as well as new signings Kevin De Bruyne and Marko Marin. Similarly Tottenham have Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon as regulars on the flanks in the White Hart Lane side’s starting eleven but clearly Walcott is a top quality player who would clearly still be targeted by a number of interested parties.
