Grant Holt: Norwich City reject striker’s transfer request
Norwich City have rejected a transfer request from striker Grant Holt.
The 31-year-old was on target 17 times this season in all competitions and was the Premier League’s second-highest English marksman with 15 goals.
Norwich have refused to confirm that the former Nottingham Forest forward has asked to leave the club.

This is not good news for the Canaries and it’s more than a little surprising. Grant Holt has an outstanding season at Carrow Road last term and was on the fringes of a Euro 2012 call-up after scoring 15 goals in his debut Premier League season. Now Paul Lambert has to try his hardest to prevent the 31 year old from leaving this summer.
For the player to hand a transfer request one can assume he is aware, or hopeful, of tangible interest in his services enough to take the risk of upsetting the club who he has represented for the past three seasons.
Holt has notched up 70 goals in 129 appearances for the East Anglian side, helping them to back to back promotions and a very satisfactory first season back in the top flight.
Norwich City paid Shrewsbury Town £400k for his services back in the summer of 2009 and one would imagine his value has increase substantially but clearly Lambert would not want to lose his most effective attacking weapon.
